The SAT Reasoning Test (formerly SAT &#8211; Scholastic Aptitude Test, SAT Scholastic Achievement Test and SAT I Reasoning Test) is required by almost all universities in the US and increasingly from universities in Europe (such as Jacobs University in Bremen, Bocconi in Milan, Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, American University in Istanbul, etc.) as an admission requirement for an undergraduate degree (e.g. Bachelor of Arts, BA, Bachelor of Sciences, B.Sc. or Bachelor of Business Administration, BBA). The SAT is also needed if you have an American High School Diploma and want to study in Germany.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"color: #000000;\">The SAT is a standardized admissions test which tests logical thinking and the ability to solve problems. Writing and reading comprehension as well as math skills are controlled. These are multiple-choice questionnaires with four or five possible answers. Moreover essays are to be written on given topics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nThe SAT is offered in two versions, the SAT Reasoning Test (formerly &#8220;SAT I&#8221;), and the SAT Subject Tests (formerly &#8220;SAT II&#8221;).<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;163&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\">SAT Reasoning Test (formerly SAT I)<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"color: #000000;\">The SAT Reasoning Test takes 3 hours and 45 minutes and consists of three sections: Maths, Critical Reading and Writing. Each section has a timeframe. Writing is always the first section and a 10-minute written multiple-choice part always the last section of the SAT. The remaining sections are completed in varying order. Amongst them is a 25-minute experimental section, called &#8220;Variable Section&#8221; or &#8220;Equating Section&#8221; from the areas of Critical Reading, Mathematics or multiple-choice Writing. This section is not scored \u2013 in other words it does not affect the overall result.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Tip<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"color: #000000;\">If possible, start with the SAT preparation in 12th grade, so that you can focus purely on the Abitur in year 13. The SAT test or the Subject Tests can only be taken from October to June. These 170 questions of the SAT Reasoning test will have a significant impact on your success with your application.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Evaluation<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"color: #000000;\">For renowned universities we recommend a minimum of 600 points per section in the SAT Reasoning Test, for top universities even more. So for example, 25% and 690 mean that 25% of enrolled students have a worse outcome than 690 points. 75% and 770 on the other hand mean that 75% percent of the students had less than 770. Conversely, this figure means that the SAT score of 25% of the enrolled students was higher than 770.<\/p>\n<p>For students in the United States and for those who wish to study at universities and colleges in the United States, the SAT is usually a very important matter. Accordingly, a good SAT preparation is of great importance.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=&#8221;stretch_row&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1458230599374{background-color: #2f9899 !important;}&#8221;][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">SAT Subject Test (vormals SAT II Subject Test)<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Diese spezifischen, jeweils einst\u00fcndigen Pr\u00fcfungen testen das gesamte Wissen der Klassen 7 bis 11 in frei w\u00e4hlbaren Kernf\u00e4chern aus den Bereichen Literatur, Fremdsprachen (ohne die eigene Muttersprache), Mathematik, Naturwissenschaften und Geschichte (US-Geschichte, Weltgeschichte). Bewirbt man sich z.B. f\u00fcr einen Studienplatz im Fach Physik, sollte man auch den entsprechenden Subject-Test ablegen, evtl. kombiniert mit einem Test in Mathematik und einem in Chemie o. \u00e4. Es ist deshalb empfehlenswert, sich vorher zu erkundigen, ob und welche Subject Tests in Verbindung mit dem SAT Reasoning Test abgelegt werden m\u00fcssen. Subject Tests cannot be taken on all SAT dates and not all SAT Subject Tests are offered at each examination date. You may not take the SAT test and the Subject Tests on the same SAT test date. Take this into consideration when planning your tests, especially if you want to have a second date as backup.
